What was the vocal sample during your jam, D.o.S.? Solid performance, btw.

It's John Milius talking about Heart of Darkness.

At about 7:30 or so. The whole video is a great watch -- I had it on when UC first proposed the idea for playing at this spot and that sort of crystallized the whole idea behind the noises I wound up making (standby button notwithstanding), since, you know, primordial ideas, frescos about life and death, etc.

It's not in the video but that shit was playing for like a solid two minutes while everyone was filtering in. Probably some IXAXAAR influence there -- just repeat that shit forever and see what happens.

I had a minute or two more of D.o.S., but there was A LOT going on (people walking, moving stuff around, talking) and I (along with most others) thought he was just sound checking so I didn't start filming before much later. Actually, the fade into actually seeing the bastard is when the camera first started rolling.

Oh, no no, I wasn't trying to imply that you were being dickish. It was more of a general information sort of deal.

i started watching that, and at 7:30 i was thinking "this must've been what he used" without even reading that's what you used. I watched the entire thing too haha! :thumb:
Yeah. I usually have Apocalypse Now or this series of interviews on while I work 2-3 times per week.

What's really trippy is that the Thrash Raptor came over and asked if it was a Lebowski/Jeff Bridges sample at the beginning of the piece -- since Milius was the inspiration for Walter. That was wild.

Had time so I watched the Milius interview this morning; really interesting insights and stories. I love his films but had never actually seen what he looks like or heard him speak. The Lebowski connection made it pretty funny having seen John Goodman's character so many times and then to see the man himself. When he started talking with such admiration about Ariel Sharon it was just spot on. I also checked out the Martin Sheen one which was great. Coppola and BIll Graham eating pot cookies at the academy awards... solid.
