Failed Pedal Lines and Companies

The Prescription Electronics thing was a mystery to me. They were one of the first really successful and widely available built-by-hand outfits. I think the Yardbox and Experience were many players' first encounters with the boutique market. The Throb was a Pulsar clone before EHX reissued it. They were perhaps the first of the Portland builders (pre-CBread, pre-Malekko, pre-Deville, pre-Lightfoot, etc.), and at some point they announced a name change, but seem to have disappeared from the scene. Their old HQ fuzzbox.com remains inactive.

Gone Fission and Hyphen Nation mentioned PE as well.

He's something you didn't know. I was in the works of buying PE and homie just up and decided to stop responding to me. We had emails going back and forth and then, bam, no replies. I was very close to buying the rights to everything. Oh well.

I would have had to hire people to do things, and I am glad I didn't. haha.

At least my eye didn't catch either old ILF brands with brief browsing here. Though I wouldn't say they failed - they made some really cool stuff, guys just decided to call it quits. Secret Seasons Snowdrift fuzz was on everybody's lips back then. And the Mellowtone Wolf Computer was (still is!) a phenomenal gnar-gnar-motorboating-Fuzzfactory-killer-fuzz that everybody seemed to love. Except for Zach Vex

That's apparently the "Chief Goose" which had added controls. Still, I don't think David was charging that much.

The regular Goose was around $150 - $200.

Thanks for the info. I saw one for sale on reverb last year for $120 (think you posted it in the eBay thread?), still regretting not getting on that shit. Because it's an oscillating fuzz. And I like those. A lot.
