Which is the best strap for doom

Which is the best strap for doom

Hey doom lovers. So, I really want to take my doom to the next level and get that SICK tone, you know what I mean haha I got the cabs I got the watts I got fuzz I got a good guitar but like. WHat strap is best for doom????

Logic says you tune low you play low like Church of Misery this guy maybe knows what is up

But then you see Tony is using the guitar higher up here so like, maybe it's not even ABOUT how long the strap is. Look at the girth and the cargo shorts level of pockets on Iommi's strap that man is PREPARED you know what I mean?

SO like, what is right? What is heaviest? What will bring my band the recognition that my doom band deserves in 2021?

i hate it when posers doom with the short strap length.
i have a custom method to make sure i do not become a poser
I take two different straps and i take my sewing kit and sow them together. i mostly use 277 thickness thread but i have found that 270 also works okay. I have found that 24mm titanium needles are the best needles for doom strap length adjustments. In my other band, which is punk, i am a lot more loose with my sewing needles, and I use anything from a 23mm to a 26mm even sometimes haha. Usually I add details to my straps that are doom, and then I use a whole range of other needles but that is just whatever you like. I try to source thread from a local shoppe instead of going the big box store. I have found that the quality of the thread hasn't really need up to par and that I need to waste thread space on doing the extra stiches. It looks really messy and people OFTEN point out my sloppy needle work after a show. It is embarrassing when it happens and that is why i upgraded my equipment.

Because I essentially have double strap length (twss) I can have my guitar or bass much lower than my actually height. Therefore I have a special bench I stand on built for DOOM. I built the bench using handtools mainly. First a slab of wood for the main body of the bench, i used a nice piece of Betula pendula, or silver birch‚ because they are native to sweden and is nice to work with, but any hardwood will do fine. I then fastneded the legs (which I used some scrap aspen to build) using 30mm shoulder mortices. Because I use handtools they are a bit shoddy in certain places but that is alright because then i can also use the bench to sit on in my homeslesscore band. Then I stand on the bench and can have the strap at whatever length I want, unencumbered by my own height. If you don't have the tools or the time to construct your own bench you can stand on you amp and cab as well. I definitely recommend this because the tone noticeably better, you just have to tune the guitar to the chord you want and have someone else strum it

If there's one thing that all doom bands understand, it's that ripping off Sabbath is the key to success. It's Iommi's strap or damn your band to infinite failure.
