I like that!

update:

Just incase you don't follow my insta I am making another 7 strang bassguiteer.

I bought a Cort/Conklin GT7, it balances horribly, it is super heavy, the body is one of the most uncomfortable shapes I have ever played.
So I am taking the neck and pickups and building a new body. Also I am going to convert it to headless.
Body is to be Dough Fir I got an asome blank set from https://tonewood.com/guitar-wood/solid- ... plies.html

Cool shape! Quite fat looking maybe but balanced visually.

Thanks!

However... I should have updated.. I changed the shape and cut it out. Basically your thought was right, too big and I'm trying to go lighter.. also I wanted a more comfy shape and one that looked more like my stuff, the other above is too much like the maton and also the steighnburger metal baritone [whatever gibsnburger are calling it] thing with the integrated sliding capo..

Also I put in an order for a 7 string musicman pickup from Nordstrand.
I'm going to have to make my own pickup cover as they don't offer anything over 6 strings.

I gotta finish this one. I can live with how drippy and terrible the finish is finally (thank you Jero and Dowi!) gonna sand it down a bit and put some other random drips on it then clear coat. I finally got around to glueing the headstock. think i can probably bullshit some 10mm tuners in there. Saw some klusons that both had threaded jackets and screw mounts so it wil probably be fine with an almost fit. If not ill just tape it. Who cares!

So I have decided to make a new body for the 12 string bass I made, even though the balance was better all 12s are neck heavy due to the tuners.. so I got a fender string master tuner assembly and am going to put it on the body running all the octave strings the other way leaving 4 tuners on the headstock for the bass strings

The wood I got is from Oregon Wild Wood and is salvaged old growth sugar pine, the shape is a mix of a supro, maton and bigsby so with the lap steel tuners and the pine body I think I have enough 50's vibe going...

PAF style humbucker mounted to a Dogeared P90 plate. Direct mounted to the body. sounds great,Nothing in the bridge.

Tried cutting a white guard, looking for something more interesting to cover up some holes. Leather perhaps, Might try a short 3 barrel style bridge.

I decided I wanted to make my own guitar from scratch last year (I'm still not done but I'm in the final stages).
This guitar has really been a learning experience. I'll explain if anyone is interested.

I've always wanted to make a guitar and got inspired to actually do it by watching Tchiks Guitars on YouTube. I have limited woodworking experience and ended up making some devastating mistakes.
Almost lost the tip on my finger to a router accident which also damaged the body (see photos in my original post).
The graphic is actually fabric. Because of the damage the I figured it would be the best way to cover my not so great patch job. Unfortunately, the fabric top process had its own issues. When I started it was hot sunny day and that caused the vinyl sealer to bubble. Trying to sand it out caused issues with the fabric. But I've gotten to the point where I'm not as concerned with the cosmetics.
