i used to run a rangemaster into the traynor but it only worked with the amp wound WAY up, and kind of fucked up the signal path for me. sounded fuckin good tho

yeah i feel i cant use any other effects if i use a rangemaster (maybe a wah) but its such a good sound

I modded the bright switch on my traynor ygm-3. It's killer now - practically always on. I find the traynors to be a little on the bassy/muddy side to begin with (the bax tone controls let a lot more low-mids through than most tone stacks.), so a well-tuned bright switch really makes the amp shine. The stock values do suck though....

Jazz Chorus bright switches sound great with humbuckers. I tend to prefer the sound without them, but I've been impressed by all the bright switches on all the JCs I've tried.

just get a 12 way bright switch, maybe you could ad a pot to vary the amount of bright like on a 5e3 too

I tought the FAC was just an in-line high pass filter. Have I missed something? I think Bryan Wompler has an amp with a vari-bright thing too. I wanted to do it with my DRRI but just couldnt be bothered (see earlier postage)

I much prefer the tuning stability of a wound G, but I have a difficult time doing the bends I'm used to with a plain G. I usually use 11s and tune to D standard, and I wonder if a .018w would be too skinny/unbalanced on such a set.

I experienced this too, sadly. I have some sets of wound g .010s but ive just stuck to regular 11s for now
