Need help with a turntable motor

Fri Aug 11, 2023 9:46 am

Hey all,

I am looking to build a battery operated turntable device but every motor I've found seems like it they need to be plugged in. Here is an example:

Can anyone recommend a motor that will work on a 9v connector? I'm looking to turn a light disc.

These days "turntable" has more hits in the microwave oven parts library.

You want to search for "DC motor" and go from there.

You might have better luck on the surplus market as well...

Be sure to confirm the motor operates on DC and not AC, and that the DC voltage range fits your needs. Over voltage (your supply being larger than the motor rating) will reduce lifespan, and under voltage will reduce torque and speed.

Spinning light discs does not sound like a high torque task to me.
