Worst covers

Postby fcknoise » Thu Jul 30, 2020 11:30 am

There are some really good covers, lets have a thread for not those.

What are some really bad interpretations that either misses the point or is just plain b a d?

Here are some contenders me and vid talked about

Hard agree on everything posted above.

It just makes me sad. And not in a good way, like the original.

Any cover of Surfin’ Bird is an automatic fucking no. That includes The Ramones, The Cramps and even.... SODOM

Basically any Megadeth cover (any Megadeth song more like it) but These Boots Are Made for Walking is an abomination that should be scorched from the earth.

Kiss covering “And Then (s)He Kissed Me” is hands down, the worst Kiss song ever performed.

Do we need a “best covers” thread to reduce the simmering festering bile in my tummy?

Probably! Fairly sure we've done it before but more is more.

I like the Manson songs, Foo Fighters and Disturbed Sound of Silence. That last one I really like. Yes it different and no I don’t like them otherwise. It’s well sung and done right imo.

I like the Manson cover but it is not as good as the original by a long shot.

I’m not really into Marilyn Manson but that Sweet Dreams covet I actually really like.

I mean the first album is pretty fun but it hasn’t been on rotation since I was like 13 years old.

Which is of course the optimal time to listen to Marilyn Manson. The first four are still total classics for me.

Every once in awhile I get on a Manson kick. It's been a long time but I agree with it mostly being relevant when I was a teen.
