how do you like having separate sides/tables?

i've kinda been struggling with that. i have Ikea tables, one of the corner pieces and a rectangular up against that. gives. me a central yarea and a long side. i use the central stuff constantly, the stuff to my left that's still close, but the far end of the table is sort of ignored. i have my mixer there, which i rarely touch, so that's fine. but any gear i put there barely gets used.

i think IDEALLY i'd have two corners attached to each other. but i don't have the space for that right now.

I've got two identical tables at 90 degrees to each other and my bass amp with an Ikea Rast end table on top of it in the corner between them. The table above is all my semi modular gear that will be patched together. The other table is more so just utilities like the mixer and Keystep Pro. It works well enough for me. If anything, I'd like to get another one of these tables to make my video synths a little more accessible. I've currently got my Eyesy, Premium Cable, and a CRT TV on a little set of drawers off to one side

I picked up a Polyend Tracker last week. Shit's bananas. Never could make sense of the software ones all that much, but the Tracker is super quick to get to grips with. It can do a buttload of stuff I really wish the Digitakt could do, which is killer.

And it plays NES roms, which is, like, super important.

This is my rig now. Pretty minimal.

verrrrry cool! i love the Tracker, i end up not using it that much. which is weird and stupid. might start keeping it near the bed, focus as butts on it. it's so awesome that it can run off a USB wall wart or power brick.

very pretty setup suh and/or madam. i'm almost done with a sort of maximal (at least for me) setup right now.

soooooo... many... cables.

wish audio, power and MIDI could cheaply and losslessly go wireless. would be SO good.

Wow that's pretty cool! What are the things you're enjoying in the Tracket that the digitakt doesn't do?

Powering it up with 5v over USB-C is a total winner. I just grab it and sit with it on the couch with a power brick. I pretty much haven't touched anything else since I got it, potentially ruining my posture forever, hunched over this thing for 6 hours at a time.

It has a very good song mode, not just for arranging patterns, but also combining tracks from other patterns together on the fly. You can arrange your song, but still totally pull it apart. I love the Digitakt, but not even being able to save your pattern chains is a tad annoying.

It has better sampling capabilities too. Lots of effects and parameters you can edit in the sample before saving it, including time stretch! It has proper sample slicing capabilities as well, it's a bit of a fiddle on the Digitakt.

Quick punch-in FX are great fun. With the Digitakt, you've got to dial in a parameter change and then quickly undo it. Which is cool, I use that method a lot, but the performance mode on the Tracker is slicker and more fun.

Still a couple of drawbacks too. I wish filter and amp parameters could be by track as well as by sample.

ah song mode, yeah I would love that. Lack of pattern chaining on digitakt is shit

What I want to know is if it is going to help you be more prolific. You know, pick up the pace. You've only released four records this year and it is already almost June.

 it will certainly slow me down, as I figure out how to use it, and then how to integrate it with the rest of my gear.

Maybe June will be my first release-less month in about 3 years.

Fully repaired! The synth had three broken keys, dirty key contacts, a broken joystick axis, two broken exotic joystick potentiometers, plus it was completely dirty. I was fortunate to have a few parts of a dead KORG DW-6000, so I didn't have to order any replacement parts from overseas. I just calibrated the joystick and now the Poly-800 is ready again for lo-fi analog synth bliss.

And now there are two:

I received the version with the inverted keys today. Overall it works, but with flaws, like faulty key contacts, crackling potentiometers, etc. This will be an easy job in comparison to the other one with the broken parts.

The dual korg polys and this tracker thing is very nice for the eyes. I have been very curious about the tracker for a minute, I def want to try it out. Problem is just justifying it with op-1 and octatrack and whatnot
