 it will certainly slow me down, as I figure out how to use it, and then how to integrate it with the rest of my gear.

Maybe June will be my first release-less month in about 3 years.

Fully repaired! The synth had three broken keys, dirty key contacts, a broken joystick axis, two broken exotic joystick potentiometers, plus it was completely dirty. I was fortunate to have a few parts of a dead KORG DW-6000, so I didn't have to order any replacement parts from overseas. I just calibrated the joystick and now the Poly-800 is ready again for lo-fi analog synth bliss.

And now there are two:

I received the version with the inverted keys today. Overall it works, but with flaws, like faulty key contacts, crackling potentiometers, etc. This will be an easy job in comparison to the other one with the broken parts.

And it plays NES roms, which is, like, super important.

This is my rig now. Pretty minimal.

I rarely ever check in this here thread so I'm a bit late to this, but this is killer.

The dual korg polys and this tracker thing is very nice for the eyes. I have been very curious about the tracker for a minute, I def want to try it out. Problem is just justifying it with op-1 and octatrack and whatnot

I think the strength in these trackers are the displays/interfaces, the overview of sequencing (but sequencing everything).
This in comparison to the OP-1 where you record sound and that's it, that's how it sounds now -
and the octatrack where you have trackPOWER and a far larger focus on creating a cohesive thing with tracks recorded already or recording live.

(saying this with never having used the polytracker, only the nerdseq tracker, and having used an octatrack like twice)

For sequencing the trackers are dope, but I think you might still end up recording it onto a track in the octa, so might not be worth it.

Vidret is my go-to anti-gas guy.

Still the tracker looks like FUN which is what is always pulling me in you know. I'd like to fudge with one sometime

i'm not as good at Downer Debbie'ing loots as sooooome cuties, but... i dunno. it's never a fault of the device, but portable All In Ones always feels like a huge letdown after an initial WOOOOO period.

it's amazebutts how much small boxes can do now but... it's always significantly less and/or more complicated than doing it in Live. twenty years ago, if i could have afforded modern gear? yes PLEASE. but now it's just frustrating learning how to hold two or three buttons and dive into a menu or five to get a very limited range of probability on one or two specific options... when i could add to ANYthing in live in seconds.

where i'm at with the MPC One. need to stop looking at it as a do everything workstation, focus on it as an interactive sampler.

and that's where the Tracker fell for me. does some crazy good stuff, but the things it couldna do ended up with it never turned on.

My setup. I feel like I’ve outpaced my music skills. Like, these sound nicer than my ability to write good music.
