Want to Hear a Mean-Sounding Singing Tree FX Overdrive?

I've been working on this new song, today, and decided to use my old Singing Tree FX overdrive (from before there was a Mellowtone) for the main dirt. (Main rhythm guitar and the smoother lead section).

I've never tried one of the newer singing tree overdrives but I've always loved the raw attitude this older version has.

There's also a WMD Geiger counter and a little bit of HOG on here.

I've let you guess what the amp and guitars are.

That older Singing Tree sounds pretty raw. It sounds a lot more menacing then my newer three knob version!

Something to think about on your recordings is to keep the bass centered in the mix. With the bass off to the left side it makes the frequency spectrum uneven, is fatiguing to the ears, and in olden days when people made vinyls (I know they still do) would make the vinyl hard to cut and more prone to skipping. Not trying to be an ass here, just trying to be helpful! :animal:

Thanks for the advice. I've never heard that before, but it makes sense. I kept that in mind when I made this new clip:

This time I decided to showcase the Wolf Computer: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8756340

Every track except the bass and drums is being played through a wolf computer here (though, incidentally, Bass does sound good through a wolf computer, especially when it's oscillating).
