It was terrifying.

Jesus Camp: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486358/

Is this the movie? It sounds like a horrible experience but not a scary movie. :idk:

Scary in the sense that it's real. Scary in the sense Westboro Baptist Church is real, scary.

... that movie was horrifying.

I also get a chuckle with anything that includes Ted Haggard speaking against homosexuality. The guy was obviously gay the whole time.

It's scarier than any scary movie. Because it's real. Also, Picard dissaproves of it. :picard:

I grew up in a Christian school, and that's what makes this movie so sad to me. They really do this, just on a lower level.

In 5th grade, during the 2000 elections, they made the kids vote. But if any kid preferred Gore (naturally the opinion of their parents and not them-- these are 5th graders), they were told why they were wrong. I actually came in with all sorts of reasons Bush wasn't all that "holy" and every time I was told I had it backwards. Which was a lie.

This continued until I ended up dropping out of that school because it was so ridiculous. Not just politically, but the complete lack of reasoning. I can't listen to music by someone that does drugs, but I'm forced to read Poe? Bullshit. Science class was basically "Why scientists are wrong" classes. The kids that got all As in that school were always the dumbest and most weak-minded. It's a depressing situation, but it's happening everywhere.

It's less about Christianity itself and more about using children to keep your opinions alive.

The phone call with that Becky Fischer is insane. Basically, admitting to preying on the young.

Growing up in church I recall stuff like this so I wasn't as shocked, but I was able to perceive it.

There's a part at the end where this little girl goes up to an old African-American man and says "do you know where you're going after you die?" "Heaven" "Are you sure?" "Absolutely." and then he refused to talk to her. She walks away and says "I think he was Muslim."

Now, I don't think I need to spell out how much is wrong with this. And the scary part is, the kids believe all of this stuff. I have no problem with you teaching your kids religion, I have ever problem with you teaching your kids religious supremacy.

I didn't hear what she said after that. That's awful. I did do that when I was in Jamaica with my youth group and was the most apprehensive about approaching random people and doing thus. Soon after returning from Jamaica, I stopped going to church. That girl will rebuke religion as she gets older.

On a lighter note: Ending it with "Spirit in the Sky" was awesome. One of my favorite fuzz riffs ever.
