on the hunt...

I live in cover band hell. I'm from a town that arrested LL Cool J,banned the Beastie Boys, fined Gene Simmons, and received a big "you can suck my dick" by Ice T. on an album. It's a military and old money town called Columbus,GA. Be that as it may,I have had some good fortune come my way. I got my 3rd sonny boy on his way in 2 months, and my patient and understanding girlfriend has given me the green light on pursuing my music. Of course,as I've stated in other posts,I had endured some hardships(financial) and sold most of my gear.
I'm currently pedal shopping and on the market for a new amp(selling my vintage silvertone was like leaving a child on someone's doorstep
). Being that Mrs. Ghost lives on the outskirts of Atlanta,I'm up that way an awful lot. I was wondering if anyone here on ILF was from that area. I'm looking to get something going with a few like-minded individuals-as a source of income.
Here's a list of what pumps my nads: T Rex,the kinks,Thin Lizzy,Yes,Dinosaur Jr.,MBV,Blind Willie McTell,Blind Willie Johnson,Blue Cheer,Black Sabbath,Sonic Youth,Of Montreal,medieval and renaissance choral music/chant,Queen,Archers of Loaf,Sebadoh,Electric Wizard,Darkthrone,Slim Whitman,the Stooges,and yet my tunes sound like none of the aforementioned(except I play solos a good bit that are roughly akin to J. Mascis,Ron Asheton,and Leigh Stevens from Blue Cheer).
So if there's anyone in or near the metro-Atlanta area, please contact me. I'm easy to work with, and my tastes are wide-ranging. At this point,I don't even care what type of band I am a part of. I just don't wanna play covers for hairy yuppies for a living. Thanks!

I'm about to graduate college in 5 months and I'm pretty sure a lot of my gear will have to go because a) I'll need $$$ and b) I just have too much big stuff I can't lug around...not looking forward to it.
