Fender CIJ Catalogs

So uhh I found like all the CIJ Fender catalogs with like all the color versions of the MG-65 and MG-69 Mustangs. But I forgot to bookmark it and I can’t find it in my browser history

:picard:

Does anyone know what website it was? I have an oddball Mustang that is an MG-69. The serial number tells me it’s a ‘99 but Fender’s serial number lookup tells me it’s a 2002 limited/special edition. Which it can’t be because those had color matched headstocks and mine doesn't. These catalogs clearly showed both models.

Here’s the thing. It wasn’t that site

When you look at the catalogs for ‘98 and ‘99. They don’t have 3 pages dedicated to Mustangs like the catalogs I found.

I hear you, there use to more sites that hade those catalogs/ sales brochures up and many times I’ve found them helpful… one thing I’ve learned from is our perception of how many units of a instrument a company puts out vs how many they actually built doesn’t line up… if the first batch didn’t takeoff the big builders seem to make changes or rebrand until it “takes off”… the problem is when you have one of those transitional ones they only made 50 or 100 of…

Could try asking over at offsetguitars.com or shortscale.org, someone there might know.
And there's also the r/offset subreddit.

That looks like it more or less! Link says 2011 but it makes my guitar both an MG-69 and an MG-73 just with a non colormatched headstock. I think you’re right about it being a traditional model. Makes my guitar even more special to me now. If only I had saved the original link…

It’s funny.. as a “test” I looked up a ESP catalog that owned back in the 90s I found 3 digital versions online… none are a exact match…

That’s crazy. It’s like, we know they exist. We’ve seen or handled them and can’t find them anymore.

Fuck me I just found the thread on Offset Guitars.

https://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/vi ... 9&start=30

My guitar body is stamped MG-69. The serial number on the neck matches most of the specs that are pulled up when I put my serial in on Fender’s site. But it is definitely an MG-73 just without the matching headstock. Do we still have to use imgur or similar to post pics?

you can post attachments as long as they’re smaller than 2KB per file. it’s nicer if you use the Place Inline function because you can put them right where you want.
