hahaha i just saw this. yeah, it's a Zachary D1. i'm a little hesitant to hype that guitar because the builder has turned into a crazy youtuber ranting about aliens & covid denial...
it really is a great guitar, but i don't really want to promote the guy, you know?
here's a really old picture from when i first got it...it's WAY more beat up now!

2) i remember tooling around on his site back in the day, and it struck me as the workings of a crazy conspiracy theorist ranting about...guitars, so maybe the transition wasn't too big a step for him?

when i dealt with him directly to buy this guitar (this is back in...2002? maybe 2003?), he seemed totally normal. he even knocked like $500 off the price listed on the website for no real reason. at the time, i thought the website was tongue-in-cheek & just a way to kind of fuck with people on the internet for fun...but in retrospect, i see that was not really the case.
