Tell me ILF,
Does it Doom? Triv Bypass? Moar Klon?
Seriously, really love the youtube show and the builder shows a LOT of different pedals from his mountain of Sovtek amps and its really enjoyable.
Anybody own anything from JHS / like it?
Tell me I must know

He looks like someone made a wax mannequin of a youth minister then left it out in the sun in Florida for a summer.

I mean, JHS’s founder has supported hate groups in Africa’s and that’s pretty brutal? So, if that’s your thing, sure?

^^^ He'll never get beyond that and all his evasion regarding it for a lot of us.
Additionally, without even going into the whole "shamelessly ripping off/fucking over other currently active small builders but getting a pass because Jesus" and/or the "hey remember him selling people literal junk an ape could've wired better back on HC" and subsequently "the $300 klone he promised never to make again but did and had it handpainted by apes because they're actually pretty good at art if not wiring and the vet fees accrued by primates huffing benzene accounted for the higher price and also Jesus needed a new premium Clip Art collection probably" deal, pretty much all of his stuff released over the last few years has been designed and built by other not (known to be, anyway) fucked up companies who make more interesting stuff in the first place because they actually know what they're doing and have proper facilities like Cusack, instead of being pure marketing hucksters.
Hate to be so negative, but, well, JHS is one company about which I can say nothing positive. And I have played most of the more popular designs when I met him at a guitar show many years ago, before I knew too much about him. They were all just clones of various drive circuits, sounded fine, but he spent 30 minutes asking me and my friends where we went to church, how big they were, if we played in the praise bands so he could give us a discount, etc. It was weird then but extra slimy in retrospect.

But, having said all that, if you wanna snag a used one and make music with it that glorifies the Twin Princes of Satan and Drugs, maybe go for it.

The Astromess/Hyperion thing was really dirty if it played out the way I remember her saying. It was messed up anyway, but some of you may recall what I mean I'm sure. This was one of the only times, if not the only, that I actually felt bad for her

I have to admit I remember nothing of this at all and just because Devi isn't perfect doesn't mean other people should be assholes, so I wasn't trying to defend JHS. I'm just here for the cheap jokes.

I have always had a soft spot for Devi - even when I bought a silver rose that crapped out of me that when returned to the local seller made him drop her line. All finer points aside this is why I am coming too you bro’s for the info.
And truth be told I do get a lot of “it’s a clone but a shiny clone” for a lot of the stuff I am seeing in the line up. What I was most curious about was the color box and if it’s worth it’s price to pay for one. I did almost buy the pulp and peel but passed when I noticed a clicking noise on a lot of the bass samples I was hearing
Also strange now that will all of the other pedals he’s demoing, I haven’t seen one Devi Ever circut - makes since

The Color Box got my attention back when has something that wasn’t an obvious clone of a specific product and that some tone hound players were using. But it was expensive and the world moved on and there are more interesting things in that vein that have come out since.
The overwhelming sense I get from JHS is safe and middle-of-the-road. Look, I’m not the most extreme player, but I do like to sound interesting and at least a bit atypical. Makes it really easy to say no thanks before getting into the theft and the hate crimes.

JHS not only reminds me of the whole homophobia thing, but also this not great interaction I had with my landlord
