Please, read this entire long-ish post.

You must have at least 250 posts on this forum in order to sign up for this tourbox. In exchange for gettin’ the opportunity to try these pedals out, it’d be nice (actually mandatory for participation) if you offered something in return. Something like written reviews, YouTube videos, Instagram (or other social media) posts, somethin', etc.

John values your feedback. It makes him a better builder. Likes to hear what you’re doin’ w/ Basic Audio pedals.

All participants will have roughly 10 days once they receive the tourbox.

Please ship the tourbox with tracking and then PM me the tracking #. I will contact you about a week or so before you’re supposed to get the tourbox. Please, PM me back to confirm all’s good. Otherwise you risk having your turn skipped. EDIT: Thanks to jwar's suggestion, the tourbox will require shipping with insurance. (I'll find out from John how much.)

Please, pick the four pedals you’d most like to try and post in this thread. Even if you’re not in the U.S. (and thus will not be an actual participant in this tourbox, pick the four pedals you’d most like to hear demos of/read reviews about.)

Obviously, due to COVID-19, for the sake of everybody’s health, I’ll ask everyone on the tourbox to be extra careful and take all precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. Please, wipe down the pedals when you get ‘em and when you send ‘em out. (I know contracting the virus this way is unlikely, but still… we can never be too careful in this respect.)

Can’t guarantee the pedals will be “clean” enough for everyone’s liking. If you’re feeling uncomfortable about signing up, please don’t. Totally understandable. (I’m personally not participating because I’m staying with my elderly parents right now.) If anyone has any suggestions for how the tourbox can stay COVID-19 safe, please, share ‘em.

If there’s enough interest (and John’s willing), Canada tourbox would probably be able to happen before a Europe tourbox. From doing an EU tourbox on TGP, there’re a couple main setbacks. The first is shipping’d be pretty expensive (and, right now, probably really slow). The second is EU customs would also be really expensive. We found a workaround, but I don’t think any EU ILFers live in that country.

Questions, schedule conflicts, concerns, think there’s a problem with a pedal? Please don’t hesitate to PM me.

As a euro person you're correct on both fronts. Customs are hard to avoid and currently with the covid situation US - EU shipping is Not Good. Enjoy the tourbox!

Make putting insurance on the box a requirement. Whatever John wants that way.

IIRC, John doesn't require insurance. That's totally up to each individual sender. If you feel more comfortable sendin' it that way, go right ahead.

Here's my thinking behind choosing them:

Oscix - John's latest, a spin on the Fuzz Factory.
Low Volt - Based on Zippy, but more so.
Kay Fuzz - Kay fuzz is sort of out on its own limb in fuzz evolution.
DOT - Who doesn't like a Fuzz Rite?

USPS is inconsistent at best. I ordered a pedal that took 3 weeks to get to me from manhattan to a suburb in NYC, yet 4 days from Cali. Both were priority mail.

I've tried the Kay fuzz in an earlier version and loved it.
