Hi Pals,
I’m in the market for a new multi-delay, and am wondering if people with experience with both can chime in on them? I like weird delays, good tape sounds, not super concerned about midi, stereo, etc. I like that you can ise the “hardware insert mode” like an effect loop on the echosystem, but maybe that’s possible with the timeline as well? Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

I think what you really want is:

1) a Digitech Timebender
2) to move this thread to general gear

The Timebender has tape modes, but they are not as good as say... an el capistan. I use both of those and I haven't wanted another delay for years at this point

I'm pretty sure you have a fx loop in the timeline as well.
As far as sound goes the echosystem is amazing. For weird delays, timeline wins imho. I found the ones in the echosys not so weird.
Echosys is a better sounding unit overall imho and it can dual delay with any engine.

Also both pedals act as a looper, eventho I think the timeline is easier to use in that regard.
