For some reason ive never looked at the lyrics for unknown pleasures because none of the singing is really garbled or anything...
...anyway.... so i always thought the opening lyrics to disorder were "I've been waiting for a guy to come and take me by the hand, could these sensations make me feel the pleasures of another man"
which, now tha ti know its not that, totally changes my entire perception of joy division and new order. I always thoughtthe majority of unknown pleasures was about Curtis repressed homosexuality and how having a famiy was literally killing him. I mean he follows it up with the lyrics from day of the lords and, with what i thought were the original disorder lyrics, if thats not about repressed homosexuality i dont know what is. Then you pick up on all the references to being in the closet and indirectly curtis on new orders catalog and bada bing bada boom. Anyway ive been awake for about a week now and i thought this was the only place in the world where i could post these thoughts and someone might actually discuss them.
