30th Birthday...

Post by 01010111 »

I’m turning 30 next month, and I was trying to pack that day with as many new experiences as possible: skydiving, go karts, getting stoned, etc. What are some things you 30+ people have done to celebrate your march into old age?

I tried to eat an entire crowd pleaser Sunday at Friendlies (I think they were bigger bag in my day  )

I got about 2/3 through, biggest issue was choosing gummy bears as a topping, once they got cold they were hard the chew and my jaw got tired.

I think I also did intercourse with my wife, but that's pretty standard birthday stuff.

For my 30th I hung out with my GF and our dogs, which is my favorite thing to do. Keeping it simple.

I did this for a while,
I switched my Facebook Profile pic to Larry Bird when I hit 33 (I think you made a mistake with Pippen, but the Dream Shake at 34 should make up for it)

This year (37) I went around saying my name was Dennis (like in Holy Grail)

On my 30th, my wife got all our friends and family together and threw me a big party. Instead of enjoying it, I moped around because I was having a mini mid life crisis.

That being said, my 30's have been so much better than my 20's.

I drank beers in the woods and played catch with some buddies in the sun (June birthday) and then had a bonfire.

I don't know who you are but happy birthday in advance! I'm 30 as well and I did nothing really special, just beers and music at home lol but it feels nice to be finally 30.

When I turned 30 I went and bought my first guitar and also joined a political party. Typical blind panic moves.

Didn't enjoy turning 30. Turning 40 was a lot more fun.

I won't hit 30 for a couple of years, but I get the feeling my "celebration" will be dropping the kid off with his grandparents and then coma sleeping for as long as I can.

Pretty sure I went out to a farm restaurant thing. Best dining experience of my life. Fish was caught in the river that we could see from the table, meat was raised and slaughtered at the farm, the fish was served with wood sorrel, which grew everywhere... ah man. It was so incredibly good.

I got married.
The more complete story is that our wedding was an event where we rented a summer camp for a weekend. My birthday was on the Friday and the wedding ceremony was Sunday.

For my wife's 30th birthday, we took a hot-air balloon ride.
