Who's on there? No idea if this app will really catch on or just be another thing to go bust in the near future, but I am fond of moving away from any subsidiary of facebook, so I made an account. I'm having a hard time getting the connections/friends/acquaintances figured out, but I'm sure that is just my own problem.

All I know is that every artist/musician/comedian/pedal builder I follow on Instagram's last couple posts are "Trying this out!" with a similar profile picture/screen name screencap and then "Uh, maybe not, how do I do this?". So I assume it's a new social media app.

Exactly, just a new social media app. In many ways not offering anything new, just a return to the features of instagram that many (including myself) preferred such as keeping your stream of content chronological. I think so many people are joining that the servers can't keep up. Either that or it's just bunk and silly, soon to be deleted. We'll see!

My Instagram feed is still chronological? I deleted Facebook years ago and recently deleted Twitter and removed Instagram from my phone. I had a bit of anxiety about Twitter and Instagram but it’s honestly had an immediate impact on my anxiety and stress levels.

Sorry. Not to hijack. The only stuff I’ve seen about Vero was an article on io9, and a stream of comments about how the app doesn’t work. What is it, exactly?

I’d be really surprised if your feed was actually chronological. Next time you’re on there double check when things were posted. It’ll show me things that are days old over something that was just posted. Or, it won’t show me a post at all sometimes.

it also looks like Vero’s going to be paid in the future? Did anyone else get one of those “free for life because you’re one of the first million users” emails?

It's set up for easy access, but you easily get bored.


That's why they call it Vero board.

I like the interface...when it's up. Feels a lot like a beta, but maybe that's just the load.

Me too. I deleted Facebook a few years ago, never looked back and never regretted it. In January I decided to stop posting/reading Twitter and I think it had a genuinely positive impact on my anxiety and stress too; I started reading it again in February and guess what, I started feeling like shit again. I'm going to be deleting it permanently.

IG still seems safe, I only follow some friends and as long as I don't look at the Discover tab I won't be transfixed by buxom cosplayers and high schooler memes that inexplicably litter the place.
