Fundraiser Ideas

Earlier this Year My Nephew (8) Was diagnosed with Fanconi Anemia
It's a rare genetic disorder that currently has him living in a hospital in NYC for a bone marrow transplant.
While he he away people are working on planning a fundraiser for him.
Ideas like a Spaghetti dinner have bounced around, but I have to believe there is a better way to raise funds.
They are looking for an "event" as it gives everyone associated a sense of community differently than an online campaign (already started).
We had a basket Raffle in October and were able to raise a good amount of cash, plus get more people in the marrow registry.
Any cool fund raiser ideas from the ILF Crew?

They have a church crew and quite of few of their friends are Gym people or Karate people.
Not super sure, but I don't want to make Spaghetti if I can find a better idea.

That's a pretty cool idea,
I thought about a fight club, but that seems like the wrong direction.

Sorry about your nephew.
This may be too similar to the basket raffle idea, but a person at my work needed to raise money for her sister's operation so they organized a "Coach bag bingo" night. Obviously the prize doesn't have to be a Coach bag if you don't want, but it seems to attract a lot of folks. It was pretty successful according to my girlfriend (meaning there was a lot of folks there at $20 a head).

Dang That stinks.
I know you already had one, but a lot of businesses will make significant donations to raffles if you just call them up and ask them.
And if it hasn’t been done yet, a giving fund should be set up for folks to contribute.
