I can’t get YouTube to embed, I have always been able to get it to work but I’m getting frustrated and I’ve given up. :picard:

Reminds me of this Joe Bonamassa quote I read last night.

“I’ve really gotten over pedals. I can’t keep up with this craze of boutique pedals that make you sound like everything but your guitar. I can’t get my head around it. So you don’t want to play a guitar [properly] so you buy a box that makes it sound like an algorithm, like you just fired up your computer and you can spend the night staring at your fuckin’ shoes? C’mon man…

“I know I’ll get shit for saying this, but it’s fucking lazy. It’s insulting to people who spent 35 years playing and learning, like a lot of players. And we continue to work at it! These guys can barely play a chord but call themselves soundscapists. Get the fuck outta here! It’s bullshit. There’s so much masking and spin going on there. Can we get real for a minute? What do you actually play? Pick up an acoustic guitar… try that!”

If an algorithm falls in the forest, will anyone hear it?

Fuckin' Bonamassa needs to get his head out of his ass because he's comparing apples with oranges. He's just as lazy as some of the "soundscapists" he bashes, just in a different aspect of musicianship. Yes, he's been practicing, honing his skills for 30 years or whatever but what does he do with it? Play fucking blues rock. A style that had already had it's creative peak before he was even born. How about you try something else than living in the past for a change, before you start seeing yourself as the definition of what greatness is, Joe? How about you try pushing some boundaries instead of beating a dead horse. Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Zappa, even the goddamn Beatles were already doing way more interesting and forward-thinking shit in '67 than anything out of his entire career, and Bonamassa is still alive and kicking in 2017 with all the technological options Zappa for example could only dream of during the entirety of his career available to him with the ease of a mouse click, delivered to his doorstep the next day. Listening to that 12 bar based shtick over and over is just as mind-expanding as watching paint dry. Heck, watching paint dry is probably more mind expanding, depending on which kind of paint I use and if any windows are open in said room.

end of rant

What a great pedal! It sounds like the future reimagined from a recent past.

When you say or think this. Probably time to reflect.

There's plenty of people that will still swallow your load while up on stage wanking your blues noodle. Just because your probably better than 99% people in your area of expertise doesn't mean you should shit all over people into different playing styles. Even if those people lack technical prowess they are still willing to experiment and push themselves into different areas of expression.

I am more or less one of the people he's talking about though. Haha. I still will never call myself a musician. But I've only really starting trying to play guitar this spring after playing bass shittily for the past 18yrs.

Anyway, pedal sounds bad ass.

Joe has a good point though. The guy in the video didn't play any chords.

Guys and Girls and Soy Boys...this isn't about Joe. It never was. Our brethren Taylor put out a really cool pedal. It's digital...that came...FROM THE IRON!!!

Exactly! Cool instagram btw. I love the succinct reviews/captions.
