Never got around to seeing them (I don't believe so, at any rate) but they used to play around the old stomping grounds quite a bit. Always heard nice things about them, and this is a bummer.

Absolutely, that is sad to hear. Pilgrim was always a refreshing change from a lot of the garbage metal bands here.
