REelicant 2 is fantastic for glitch, granted this is only cheap if you already have an ipad and a way to run your guitar through it, but if you do it'll be the glitchiest $6 you spend.

The clip above is me playing the same (boring) riff over increasingly glitchy settings of the replicant. Their Pumphouse Sequenced Compressor can also double as a great sequenced tremolo on the guitar.
There's also the Apesoft iDensity for more etheral glitch, if ya'll want me to demo that.

They got rid of the iTunes one, iirc. I'm not happy with the new Appstore on iOS either though, they got rid of Free App of the week and of wishlists all together.

The cubasis export keeps ironically glitching out on me.

I'll have to check these out. Recently got my first Ipad. Mainly for Borderlands Granular and other cool synth like programs. That reminds me I need to grab Samplr. Also need to figure out how to record into it so I can make youtube clips.

I use a Shure MVi, but there are a lot of cool options out there.
Your first app in music should be Audiobus or AUM, it's how you'll connect all of your apps together.
As for actual soundmakers, what would you like to have? I recommend Fieldscaper for sketching and fucking with audio, It's a fantastic looper/recorder with great mangling options. I can't recommend Samplr that much since it's been ages since the last update, and it's falling to the wayside a bit compared to other apps.
For synths you can't go wrong with Mood/Zeeon and Synthscaper: Mood and Zeeon are essentially Model Ds on steroids, go for Mood for versatility and Zeeon for a truly unmatched sound (best sound off an iPad synth at the cost of insane CPU usage), Synthscaper is fantastic for rich evolving tones and drones. LayR and Kaspar are also up there, with huge multitimral patches and layering. The korg stuff is great, but wait until they go on sale.
For daws I recommend Cubasis for your standard shit and Beatmaker 3 is you can fuck with an MPC layout.
Patterning is my favorite Drum Machine bar none, but you can always go for DM2 if you want to synthesize your own drum sounds.
Effects I high recommend all of the Audio Damage stuff, their Fuzzplus 3 and Rough Rider 2 Compressor are free too! Adrian Belews' Flux:Fx used to be great, but it's outdated and CPU heavy now.
Hexaglyphics for your A E S T H E T I C H A R S H N O I S E app, it's wicked.

Sweet thanks! I'll take a look at those.
I downloaded Audiobus, Borderlands Granular, Synthscaper, and maybe something else when I bought it.
I was mainly looking at cool shit that I could get to make weird soundscapes. I do enjoy ambient/drone/noise. I know I would like some effects.
Some microtonal stuff would be super neato.
Can I get that camera adapter thing and plug a usb mixer into it? Also could I do that and record video at the same time? I'd like to make videos with the hardware I have at some point. I'll take a look at the Shure.
thanks and Sorry to hijack.

As long as the mixer doesn't use dumb proprietary software it should work, either way I would look it up once you get the camera connector kit.
Go to Audiobus's compatible apps page, that is actually a pretty good way to find out new audio apps, better than the convoluted apps store that iOS 11 brought.

Sweet. Thanks for the tips. I'll pick up Fieldscaper and take a look at Cubasis and see if I need something like that at this point.
I bought the newest cheap Ipad and am running it on whatever software it came with. Probably 10.something. I'm holding out on the update for a while.
Also I dig the Idensity recording.

Noisemaking apps like these make me really want an iPad. I doubt I do much else with one so the expense has never seemed justified. But man, I would have some fun...

I mean, an iPad Air 2 sell new for around $350, which is a lot nicer a pill to swallow than the Pro's $800 price tag.

No more Hexaglyphics on Apple. Bummer. Any other suggestions for similar things?
Also favorite delays? I'd like one super pristine and one mangler (Dedalus?).

For pristine, try Dubstation 2 by Audio Damage. For mangler try apeDelay, although that one really transcends delay.
