D*A*M + 3 others to conjunctively release 4 TB MKI's

I just started getting into this article at D*A*M forum, but D*A*M, Ian at Ghost Effects, Castledine and Pigdog have apparently all been working together on their own version of the Tonebender MKI circuit. Really cool demos of each for your listening pleasure.

http://stompboxes.co.uk/forum/viewtopic ... 54&t=20970

I'm always partial to Ian's stuff but I think objectively I prefer the d*a*m's tone

But they all sound fantastic

Am I reading right that you need to buy all 4 to buy one currently?

Lulz, based on what I know about DAM and Pigdog, that'll be a goddamn expensive quartet, if that's the case.

If you want a specific serial number in the first 10, you have to buy the set of 4. If you don't care about serial numbers then you can buy just one. Most people with $800-1000 to spend on a pedal (best guess on prices) seem to also care that they get their lucky number written on the inside. Or they just want the lowest number possible so they can reference it when they sell at a later date.

Those pedals have some incredible workmanship, but I couldn't imagine spending that much on such a simple fuzz. Guess the resale value is pretty dependable though :idk:

One of these will probably cost more than my whole rig.

While I have to admit that a good mk1 sounds tasty as fuck, the whole gated thing just doesn't work for me. I don't get on with the mk1 vibe, despite how good they can sound.

Each of these builders have long collected the cum of famous MKI players and after their extensive journeys into jungles, war zones, ancient ruins for transistors they then soak the transistors in aforementioned cum...creating an exquisite, creamy combination of material and liquid. The transistors soak up the cum and are transformed. You'll never hear Fuzz like this in your life. Don't let the ease and simplicity of the build process fool you...remember the cum. And feel the fuzz

***A true tale about the justification for charging $x,xxx for a god damn fuzz pedal***

are you guys trying to insult me without having the balls to actually form the words to make an insult?

it's a forum called i love fuzz, it's a thread about a bunch of overpriced fuzz pedals.

people can listen to the samples if they want to, they sound pretty fucking good, way too much money for me.

you guys are too cool for school. hope you have a great day whenever you read this.

No, pigmaker, I was simply commenting on the comments in this thread. (If I were gonna insult you, I'd fucking insult you and you'd clearly know it. Wouldn't have to ask.)

I've already listened to all the demos. I'm a fan of pinstripedclips. I post on the D*A*M forum even though I can't afford most of those pedals over there. If I had that kinda money, I'd probably buy 'em. I do love fuzz.

Dude I wasn't trying to rip on you too hard—we all give each other shit around here. I just thought it'd be funny if you happened to be the Pigdog guy, based on your name. That'd be ironic that you'd be plugging your own pedals when they typically sell out instantaneously... get it? Ehhh?

Really just kidding man.

I always feel like a little worm on a big fuckin hook when I browse the D*A*M forum. This isn't helping. Way too rich for my blood at £750+ a pop, but it's a hell of a project that clearly took a lot of time and effort to source specific components needed to put together 200 authentic MkI's between four people. Easy for some to get sneery about the cork sniffing, but this is fuzz box ground zero.
