If your dad has a cat that sheds a lot, there's a cool little wire brush that once you're done you can push a button and all the hair collects at the top in a neat little clump, there's also a glove version (I think). Worse comes to worst, my friend got a mylar ball that her cat is still playing with months later.

Halloweens comming up so maybe a Targ? great for klingons, trekkies, and it doesnt puke up bile filled fur staining the carpet.
