I am starting a new stars of the lid/sunn/nadja mixed up kinda drone band. I have tried the cubicle/coworking spaces/meeting rooms, few coffee shops(all kinda sucked)/ designated home office and the humble kitchen table. None of those are doing it for me. I want earth tones here! How are the white collar business suites? The virtual workspace? Any maritime workplaces? Please give me feedback on what office will bring the drone. thanks.

Forget the office. Grab a lawnmower and start landscaping people's yards. Infinite drone while working.

I'd say a stethoscope and any office computer with a loud fan would do it. Alternatively a contact mic + a espresso coffeemaker into a big conferance room for reverb

Microsoft Office. Have you tried putting it in a spreadsheet?

What about those jobs where you live in a tower in the forest looking for fires?

Maybe one of those offices that has a ball pit and lets employees ride bikes around inside? A hip and exciting office?

Any office is good office for corporate drone.

Unless it has modern amenities and fun.

Not exactly office related, but I find I can never write any songs in my living room. I like having a little more space and all, but anything that actually makes it to the band to work on gets started in my bedroom, if ya know what I mean.

Point being: the space matters and I have no idea what to look for

Get to the mailroom. You'll want that postal stress and general ambience of a dead medium of communication.
Perfect blank canvas to set your existential, empty dirge of angst drones to.
And stack those rubberband balls.
You'll want pants flapping pointlessness.
