Traveling to Toronto for the first time on the 17th. Bringing the girlf, and will be there for the weekend (we're in Detroit, it's a short-ish drive). I'm looking for some advice on what to do there. We have no plans whatsoever, and I'd love to check out some music stores etc... Maybe catch a local show, drink some beers and just generally see some cool stuff. Any tips?

I don't know Toronto much... but Capsule Music seems like a very good store.

Yep, Capsule... check out Paul's Boutique in Kensington Market:

Kensington Market is also a pretty great spot to get lost for a couple of hours. Visit the Distillery District at night:
http://www.thedistillerydistrict.com/ - kinda touristy... but very pretty.
There are lots of great venues in TO; and usually lots of decent shows. Check Lee's Palace, The Garrison, The Horseshoe, Massey Hall, Sneaky Dee's, The Silver Dollar, Danforth Music Hall, for listings - all great venues and there are at least a thousand more, hahahahaha...
There are SO many great restaurants - but you have to check out this amazing little dive on Queen Street, called New York Sub. They have the most amazing fusion burritos, ever! Try not to look around too much, while you wait... DEFINITELY don't use the washroom, LOL - but treat yourself to a Spinach and potato; and/or Chicken satay burrito! SO. GOOD.

I haven't been myself, but I hear Sonic Boom is the place to be if you love vinyl.

This shop is on the Fairfield dealers list, so it might be worth a peak.

I would just try to become Scott Pilgrim if I went to Toronto.
