I dunno if y'all are keen on this dude's music, but he's a pretty amazing musician-turned-preacher from Nigeria. He was hella into synths, and made an amazing blend of afrobeat and electronic music. He was super DIY too, doing all the recording & production himself IIRC, and he paid to get all his music put out in small-batch vinyl. He abandoned music after becoming a hardcore born-again Christian, and stopped talking about himself in his last 30 years, instead opting to talk about god. Luckily in 2012, David Byrne's label Luaka Bop reissued a greatest hits compilation - I found it through our college radio's New Music section and instantly fell in love.
His whole catalog has since been reissued and is 100% worth digging through, but the album Anything You Sow is like a beautiful mesh of Fela Kuti, Beck, and Merriweather Post Pavilion-era Animal Collective. You synth enthusiasts will get a real kick out of this guy I think.
