Latency is a bitch.

I had a brilliant idea last week to get a second Whammy Ricochet so I could have one going up an octave and another going down an octave on the momentary setting. I wired them both into my board this evening and got excited to have pitch drops and raises at my feet whenever I wanted. But now that I have two on my board I noticed that each one probably adds about 5ms of latency when in momentary mode. Because the pedal is full wet this means its always delaying by that amount. Maybe one wasn't noticeable but now that I have two its pushing my signal back ~10ms at all times which means a constant disconnect with what Im playing and what I'm hearing. fml.

I really wanted to use these on momentary but it looks like Ill just have to use them on latch and stomp them off again. Annoying but manageable.

I've been wanting one of these for a minute. I guess it speaks to how good the pedal is if you were willing to get two.

I really just wanted a specific effect in two directions so I needed two pedals. Its a great pedal though. Picks up where the PS5 left off.

The TC SubNUp might be able to do what you want with a single pedal and no real latency. The Toneprint thing is very customizable

The latency is on the momentary setting which the TC doesnt offer. If I turn the Ricochets to latching there is no latency. You just have to work harder on stomping in potentially tricky parts.

Shit, I thought that was mainly an audio interface / recording problem.
I would nottttt like that.

Oh no this is an actual live latency issue if you stack multiple pedals that introduce 'negligible' latency. Its a bizarre experience to play and turn them one by one to momentary and have it feel more and more like you aren't the one playing your instrument any more.

It is more than latency, by using two Ricochets you are also pitch-shifting an already pitch-shifted signal. There are bound to be artifacts and other anomalies.

Would running them in parallel help?

Embrace it!

Yes, this is a great solution.

Or get yourself a dual momentary looper, leave them latched in the loop and click clicky to your heart's content.
