Oh Canada! My (second) home and (not) native land...

So I'm technically a Canadian citizen?

I did some research today, and since my dad was born there (he was naturalized in the US as a behbeh), I guess I have birthright citizenship.

I just need to apply for official Proof of Citizenship, but for all legalese I am already a Canadian and an American...I guess.

So :hello: to my fellow Canadites, eh?

Does anybody else have dual citizenship or anything like that? What do you think I should do with this? If Trump actually wins, I'm already one step ahead of the rest of you suckers on leaving the country.

English born with dual citizenship, moved here last year from Poland, welcome to the club! It's a pretty neat position to be in, having multiple passports and options for when things go tits up etc.
Will say now that all this Canadian boasting of free healthcare that I see is a lie, it's better than a lot of places but compared to the NHS or other EU systems it's a bit behind.

If you were gunna move here, your strong ass Americabux are pretty valuable about now!

It's only as useful as you make it.

I went to Canada once. About the only interaction I had was with the Canadian border guard.

"Why are you coming to Canada today?"
"Never been. Wanted to see if it looks like those home improvement shows with the twins and English lady"
"What?" Everyone tells me to shut up.
"Well, my wife likes those shows and we've never been so we thought we'd see what Canada looks like in person"
"My wife's jealous of your home prices. How long are you going to stay?"
"The day"

2 hours later:
US border guard: "What did you do in Canada"
"Sat in traffic"
"Bring anything back?"
"No, we sat in traffic"
"Ok, welcome back"

Most of my friends and family with dual citizenship never go back to wherever they have citizenship (not Canada/Peru and stuff).

Better be careful, you may spawn a new genre of tourism: "sittin' in traffic" tourism.

"I hear Canada's got some of the best sitting in traffic of anywhere in the world."

Well, that's what getting back into the US from Tijuana is, right?

Its not our fault, we only have one road.

They seriously shut down that main drag from WA to Vancouver. My parents said there was another road but it was even slower...and we had already picked the one we were on with no chance to switch (it was right around some tunnel and they had pinball flippers everywhere to block the road). Sat there forever.
