anyone know if i'd be able to use the USPS "First-Class Package International Service" to send a $200 pedal?
even their flat rate box prices are ridiculous...

https://ircalc.usps.com/MailServices.as ... dvi=200.00

sorry, i'm used to just shipping within north america using UPS.

Yea First Class all the way. Just so you know, Aussie is one of the MOST expensive place on the planet to ship. Some places in Europe are worse, but not by much.

Yeah, you can use first class. The customs form even doubles as a tracking number.

Don't use flat rate for international unless you're shipping lead.

Yeah, First class international is the way to go for pedals.

I had lots of pedals shipped that way from the US, everything showed up, no problem.

Thanks dudes.

Yeah we suck down here.

I was talking to space6oy about it, and strangely enough, a pedal I sent to neon from here was only $16AU recently.
Odd because its usually the other way around.
So let me know if you guys want some vegemite or Tim Tams sent over.

i always wonder why (particularly when buying small stuff from USA) to Australia, the postage is equal or more than the actual item.
ie...micro chips...postage $20US (with the current exchange rate is ridiculous)
for a guitar or amp, yeah i get it...but chips that weigh less than 500g. FFS!!!

and i can send pedals over to USA for $21AUD (which is roughly $15-16USD)

first world postage problems i guess...

Now we aren't, but realistically neither is Japan, and it costs a boatload to get shit here from there.
Still more than Japan to US.

It's closer to us than you and it's still more expensive...???
It's probably a volume thing as well.
