Where near Raleigh? You looking for things to do in town, or in the area?

We're in Cary.
Really anything, doesn't have to be in Raleigh
Just as long as it isn't too far

Hmm...well...

Eric Bachmann is playing a solo show at the Cat's Cradle back room on Saturday in Carborro. http://www.catscradle.com/
There's some heavy music at Slims in Raleigh on Saturday night http://www.slimsraleigh.com/

Sorry State Records and Schoolkids records are good in Raleigh.

Music shops in Raleigh--http://www.guruguitarshop.com/ -- they're the most down to earth dudes I've ever met in a guitar shop.
There's also Harry's in Raleigh. I haven't been there in years http://harrysguitarshop.com/

There's minor league baseball saturday if you like that -- Carolina Mudcats are playing.

If you like outdoorsy stuff Eno River State Park is awesome in Durham. http://www.ncparks.gov/eno-river-state-park
Umstead State Park is much closer to Cary--it's good but Eno is better. http://www.ncparks.gov/william-b-umstead-state-park

I grew up in NC and went to school at NC State. And now I live in Jersey. :joy:

NC is totally awesome...if you are white and straight.

I live in Cary!

Most of the venues and outdoors stuff has already been posted and there are some good suggestions there.

You should check out the North Carolina Museum of Art and Raleigh Times is a kind of cool bar/restaurant downtown. I like going there midday to avoid the drunks. You should probably hit up Cookout too, just to say that you've had the experience.

If you decide to go to a show or get bored you can PM me. I'm kind of awkward and don't drink but might be down to hang out for a bit.
