Very Specific Movie Plot Search

Hey friends.
I realize that due to the nature of this question there are bound to be slight spoilers, but I was just thinking the other day about the plot device where you're following a character that you assume to be the "hero" while there is another character you assume to be the "villain" throughout the film, but when you get to the end (or whenever) you realize it's the opposite. Like the guy you've been rooting for is actually the bastard who fucked everything up or is trying to fuck everything up, and the guy you thought was the evil dicklicker is actually the victim or hero.
Any movies/books/shows that are kinda like this?
Can you tell me the titles without giving anything else away?
That would be COOL.
Thanks!

This just happened, last night, on the wonderful show You, Me and the Apocalypse. Well, it was more of a minor plot twist. But, a good one.

Fight Club springs immediately to mind. I'll think more about it.
Also: my life.

Thinking of several Harry Potter storylines fitting this description.
Watchmen also comes to mind.

Thinking of several Harry Potter storylines fitting this description.
The Goblet of Fire is one of the stronger efforts in the series and fits this description to a 't.'
All of the films are at least decent, BTW. The second one,
The Chamber of Secrets, drags, but the third and fourth are the best ones, so persevere, basically.

"The Usual Suspects" kinda fits that mold, I guess. Sorta.

For books, check out Bad Monkeys by Matt Ruff.
Or, if you wanna get all "literary," perhaps Lolita, by Nabokov.

Hmmmmmmmmmm I've seen/read all of the suggestions except for You, Me, & The Apocalypse and Bad Monkeys. Will check those.
"Memento" was kinda the only one that really came to mind. Lots of "Lost" stuff too.
Thanks!

It's a vidja game, but Shadow of The Colossus is a kind of a good example.

I Am Legend (alternative ending). Even more so in the 1954 novel that it is based on.

Not really a good guy/ bad guy thing... but the character twist at the end made everyone go WOOOOOOOAAAAAH DUUUUUUDE in the 90s. Best music video ever.

Strange Days kinda counts
I guess Nolan's Following does, too
Total Recall (1990) for sure.
Aeon Flux too
As for relevant themes in vidya......Mother 3 might not be appropriate to mention but I feel like it should be
GTA: San Andreas
TG16/PCE: Dungeon Explorer
Final Fantasy IV, FFV, FFVIII
