In most states in the USA, the left lane is reserved for passing other vehicles, and staying in it too long is a ticketable offense. Of course, everything here is ticketable.

It's the same here but it's a rule that's not really enforced too hard.
Unless you're doing like 50k on the highway in the right hand lane.

Like basically every law in the USA, it is very selectively enforced.

Technically, with two lanes like that, the left lane should be used for overtaking. In practice, it doesn't really work like that.

Yes, I normally agree, but speedy mcspeedersons need to give people in the left lane who may have just passed someone even slower ample time to get into the right lane instead of swerving between lanes like a crazy pretending they're playing Need for Speed 9: The Need for Even More Speed.

I was so surprised when I moved out of southern california and now people actually get over and let me pass. Back home folks have decided what the correct speed of travel is and fuck you if you disagree.

california drivers are the worst.. I swear it's the opposite over there and the left lane is the slow lane while the right is for passing.

This is one of the things I love about being back in New Jersey, people actually move the fuck over when I have shit to do.

Fucking Virginia and Maryland drivers are so awful at this. No, stop going 55 in the left lane. The speed limit is 65 what the fuck are you doing.
