Anyone been kicked out of a show you were playing?

I played a show last night where the venue owners immediately tried to shut us down. Had no tolerance for volume or hardcore antics, but booked is to play there anyway? We still managed to finish or set while literally being verbally assaulted and threatened because they're all of ten minutes but damn.
Anyways tl;dr share your stories of getting kicked out of your own shows

I have some run of the mill stories like this but Om getting kicked out of the Middle East upstairs for refusing to stop playing (the sound people allegedly had to go onstage and kill the amps to cut their set) is a personal favorite.

As someone who's worked at the Middle East and had to deal with the city of Cambridge, to be fair, the Cambridge Alcohol Control Board is very strict. The Middle East has been on probation many times.

Operating past closing time is definitely an infraction. There's a chance the Middle East could've lost their license if they'd been caught.

(Also, I've kicked people out of their own shows.

Never for playing too loud though.

)

The most surprising part to me is that I'm in Richmond now, we played at some shitty "jazz lounge" that sometimes has punk shows. This lady tried to ask our drummer to turn down? Like it was a cluster fuck and just ridiculous overall.

Not for the most part, that was definitely a freak occurrence here. I've only been asked to turn down once otherwise and it was done much more cordially.

Yeah, that's all true, and reasonable, it's just hilarious.
relatedly the MBTA just voted to get rid of their late night service, because they are allergic to good ideas. While having to bail on shows at 11 to catch the T builds character, I feel bad for all the folks who are going to miss out on some great music.

I'm just glad Richmond is still good for shows. It'd break my heart if that place sucks now.

Not half as hilarious as having to deal with the city of Cambridge.

It's like trying to explain to an eighty year old judge what sexting is.
Public transportation has always shut down way too early in Boston. Especially for a city which is mostly college students.

Since then, they've voted. It's on the chopping block.

WTF BOSTON?!?!?!?!?!
Good thing I have to drive up most of the time anyhow, but still. It would be so much more convenient if I could take the T up and back. Good friggin' lord.
ANYHOW... I do remember playing a Western MA gig where the opening band, Feral Logic (?) got thrown out DURING THEIR OWN SOUND CHECK for refusing to turn down. The venue had strict volume rules because they were in an area deemed "mixed use," so the soundguy had a volume-meter of some sort, to make sure nobody went over a certain decibel level. When he showed them the actual readout on the meter, I remember them replying that volume was part of their aesthetic, and they refused to compromise.
So the venue kicked them out and replaced them with some weird 10-piece parlor jazz band. I can't remember who else was on the bill besides us, but that was a very odd night all 'round.

My band has been asked to turn down a couple times, but it was always done politely and quietly between songs. It's usually our subwoofers that are the problem.
I saw the Bloodhound Gang get shut down at the House of Blues in Boston, because they were chugging Jagermeister onstage and refusing to end their set. Evil Jared had to be dragged off the stage. He is a big motherfucker, it took 4 bouncers and I didn't envy them.

one time at a show me & kbit were playing. the guy who put the show together got arrested at the venue for some outstanding warrant shit. they tracked him down b/c of social media! all things considered it was kinda funny
