So I'm sure you guys all remember snickers crunchers and how fucking awesome they were. Well apparently they've been reissued in a blue wrapper as "snickers crispers". Aside from immediately hating the name as it sounds like a candy bar that contains smegma, I was overjoyed at the news and headed to my local candy spot to purchase a bag. Got them home and busted the loot open and began to chow. Theres something missing. Not as peanutty. The chocolate tastes like soap. They are all hard and stale and shitty like they've been sitting there a minute. Maybe they are new old stock with different wrappers. All in all i am totally bummed and this was a shitty day. Thanks mars.

It might seem silly, but I've tried to leave whatever chocolate I buy on a counter (still unopened) or somewhere it can soften up for a day or two (room temperature or what have you). Whatever texture jet lag it might have suffered on its trip toward its place of sale will wear off by then, & the candy will be less stiff & hopefully more enjoyable (local man at my work used to get a cup of hot coffee & balance a Heath bar on top while it cooled down). Or you could just put it in your pocket while you watch Frasier or whatever & by the time the credits roll it's candy time! But the old Crunchers were probably too ineffective, cost-wise, that they had to skimp somewhere (I used to pretend all those peanuts were teeth of mine enemies) - the first thing to go is always flavor.

Frasier is fucking tight as fuck.

I have found a lot of the big named candies/chocolates is like this lately, it's fucking depressing.

sorta OT because i'm not that into chocolate but i've always liked sour candy and the big name stuff is tame as fuck nowadays, it's depressing. i want acid burns not sweet sugary shit goddamnit.

Usually go with sour patch kids for my fix, but I'm sure there are better options.

Im not sure if it was just more intense for kiddie me, but Warheads aren't nearly as sour as they were for me when I used to get them. Sour Skittles + Sour Patch Kids (especially the berry ones) are still the shit tho.

Sour skittles were boss but they changed them, they used to be coated in that crusty acidic shit that would burn out the insides of your mouth, they toned it down ages ago. Not happy.

Really? I couldn't tell, but I also ate them so much that I had to stop getting them for awhile because my mouth was permanently feeling burnt from them.
