Portland, Cannon Beach peeps!

Hey northwestern Oregon people, I'm getting married this summer, and then we're going on our honeymoon to Cannon beach. We'll be flying into Portland though, and staying a day there. We'll have a rental car, and plan on driving all up and down the coast and inland towards the forests as well (we love hiking). Any recommendations restaurants or maybe even venue wise? My fiance is vegetarian, but will eat fish, so we don't ever have to worry about being picky.
Which state or natn'l park close by might be the best?

What are you asking about for state/national park are you asking? Looking for a place to camp, or just go hiking?
I'm sure I will miss something, as there's new places all the time but some of my go-to Portland restaurants:
Tasty & Alder: mix of small plates some veggie, some meat, etc. Just fun.
Imperial: great menu/mix of local foods/ spendy
Renata: interesting italian food.
Clyde Commons: interesting food. Might be hard for a veggie place.
Biwa: my wife and my favorite date night spot. Japanese food. Amazing
Pok Pok: incredible thai street food. No reservations, but worth the wait, and you can go to the whiskey soda lounge across the street
Bollywood Theater: terrific indian food. Nice range for veg-non-veg.
Blue Star Donuts: fucking incredible donuts. Don't believe the voodoo hype.
If you aren't looking for restaurant, research the food cart pods. So many good ones.
Are you guys into beer?
Wine? If you have time, maybe hit wine country on the way to the coast?
Weed is legal and awesome. Go to Farma on Hawthorn. Super knowledgeable staff, clean and upbeat. It doesn't have the sleezey strip club meets head shop that a lot of dispensaries feel like.
If you have time in Oregon: Timberline Lodge is worth an overnight up on Hood + Hiking.
All up and down the gorge is tons of hiking.
There's lots of places to hike and camp on the coast.
If your fiancé loves you, she'll let you go to a music store. Make a point of going to:
Old Town Music
Black Book Guitars [actually, Mississippi Ave where they are located is just a fun place to walk for a bit, comics, books, vinyl, clothes, eats].
Control Voltage [rad synth shop a few blocks from Black Book].
Happy to help clarify anything.

There's a coffee shop in Cannon Beach that is A+ wonderful. I 99% sure it's called Sea Level Coffee. It's in the south part of town, but definitely worth the drive or long walk down the beach. I lived there for a year and didn't find any food that I would say you have to make a stop for, but I also never had anything I'd steer you away from. There is a little thai place that I like right as you into town.

Definitely just hiking since we won't have any camping gear with us. I'll bring my day pack and boots, so I wouldn't mind an all day trip as that's what we mostly do anyways. Leave early and get back late exhausted and hungry lol. I would say that medium to just under hard (not looking into rock climbing or summitting 13000+ ft peaks), and under 15 mile hikes would be awesome.
We'll be staying in Canon Beach, but that's kinda just home base as we plan on going up and down the coast to different places. She want's to go to Tillamook, I definitely want a day in Astoria. Fiance is a music teacher, so any music store would be a lot of fun! Coming from CO, so we prolly won't visit any dispensaries, but beer is definitely on the menu for sure. Hell most of our trips in CO involve a brewery somehow. But good food and beer is kind of the main point of our lives anyways.

I'll have to seek out that coffee shop. We love breakfast and the most important part of breakfast. Coffee.

Definitely do! They bake all their own stuff every day and it's off the hook. In our last 3 day trip to cannon beach we went 4 times haha

There's a really good one called "The Sleepy Monk." I don't drink coffee (caffeine STRAIGHT EDGE), but my wife is a connoisseur, and she loved it.

Bump up! Wedding is this weekend, and we're heading up to Oregon the day after. Anybody here doing any shows?

Alright! Premature congrats. (Something something joke about premature problems, wedding night.)
Don't know about shows, but you might find some worship groups singing in Spanish on the beach. That's what I saw there a year ago.
I mean CB. Don't know a lot about Portland. Go to Hug Point, though...take a drive down the coast...maybe get some burritos in Manzanita.

I'm moving this weekend, or I'd be down to try and hang out. If anyone's playing a show or wants to jam sometime, I'm down.

Fuck those hot drinks.
Since I made that post, though, I started waking up in the middle of the night to start my long-ass commute. I buy a lot of Timmy Ho's Iced Capps. So that's coffee. But it's frozen, has Oreos (tm) in it, and lots of whipped cream.

I run on coffee everyday. Days without are non-functioning days.
But yeah I think our stop in Tillamook is going to be the day we go out to Cannon Beach, and then relax that evening. We're still looking at close parks and possible hikes as well. Anyone been to Astoria? We plan on a day up there to drive around and visit stuff.
