One Sheet Advice

I'm thinking about making a one sheet and trying to book some shows. There's obviously more to it than that but I figure I might as well take the steps to do this right. I can always update as needed. The issue is that this is a solo project and I haven't played out with it yet. I'm about to release a full length but none of the old bands I used to play with still exist. I figure I'm going to pass some cd's out at shows and try and get some newer bands to add me to shows but in the meantime I could at least attempt to go through club bookers and some of them ask for one sheets. The samples I've seen online are gross. Band in front of an industrial building looking either angry or apathetic...a bunch of lame quotes they probably made up. I've never written one and I'd like to keep it pretty minimal but I'm wondering if that just won't go over well.

in my very limited experience, minimal is good. No bullshit, just what you're about and what you hope to do and how it's gonna help them get people spending money at the bar.
