Shipping Rant

Before this, I have never had an issue with USPS. They have been trying to work with me though.
USPS has been delivering/trying to deliver a vintage guitar to me/the leasing office before they open. USPS will also not allow me to come pick up the package.
USPS worked with me this morning and tried to deliver the package to the leasing office after they opened. Leasing office attendant refused the package and had it sent back to the post office. I called the office after learning about this, and will for sure not be renewing my lease as it is apparent I cannot have packages shipped to my home.
I don't know what my options are. I can't pick up the package as my ID is different than the address I had it shipped to. The office at my building will not accept my package. I'm staying at this apartment for the next 2 months, and then moving to a new apt - so changing my address doesn't make too much sense.
Any ideas?

Not sure why USPS aren't allowing you to pick up the box. If they do let you, bring a bunch of official looking mail with you. That should show 'em that you do live there.

They won't allow me to pick it up because my ID doesn't match the address shown on the package. I'm going to try to bring bills etc.. but they have said that is not acceptable ID.

USPS is supposed to let you pick up packages with a different address than your ID. My ID is still in WA, but I pick up packages all the time here in NY.
Also try using your passport or an ID without an address on it. Any legal ID should work including Social Security Card.

Passport is the key.

They probably won't accept bills. They should accept a copy of your lease, car/home/rental insurance, voter id card, or car registration.

Bills will have to do. This is not my permanent residence.
EDIT: I AM the one who pays the rental insurance however. It's all online, so I'll have to figure out how to print out a statement.

If going through these legal channels doesn't work out, we may have to resort to extreme measures.
DoS and DRod will create a diversion while you and I sneak behind the counter and grab the box. That always seems to work on TV.

We might have to, it's an old Harmony Silhouette that I really wanted to use during practice today.
Dumb-ass in the leasing office told me I have an additional "big box" waiting for me to. I have NO idea what that could possibly be. I don't have the money to be buying amps and whatnot. Maybe I won something? Maybe she's just an idiot?

I hope everything works out easily (or as easily as it possibly could at this point).

Looks like I need to go the DMV, change my address, pick up the package, change it back, and then drink myself to death.

I'm down. At least the mix will be fantastic.
