I helped do some camera work for it when I first moved to the Seattle area
pretty fun documentary and had no idea about the genre prior
optimus rhyme, mc chris, YTcracker and lord of the rhymes are my favorites

I had my doubt while shooting
but it turned out and travelled the circuit of underground fests worldwide

I think I shot these guys at the high dive
best band in the genre barnone
they disbanded because of one guy's health issues
and various copycats
all real instruments
which was a big deal for the genre

I filmed YTCRACKER and a bunch of nerdcore artists at a shitty dive in kirkland in 2006 when I first moved to the northwest
the bar was a douche kind of place
lot of flyers with lame chicks in bikinis and shows for lame bands
it's the eastside
and nobody came out
it was pretty much the film crew and like 8 people in beginning
around 20-30 people showed up later
but he came out with a power glove on and armfuls of women rapping
pretty gangster
plus I think he's one of the most famous hackers that went legit

I approve of this thread. I always like learning about cultures and movements I'm not a part of or don't understand.

I've heard a couple of the names, like mc chris and MC Frontalot but never delved in deep to this scene.
