Automobile Accidents

I love getting into fender benders on my way home from work
I love getting nervous about my insurance going up
Life gives me anxiety...
Can I just live in a cave and build pedals all day and be fed grilled cheese and beer?
Is that an occupation?
I guess there's not much of a point to this thread other than the anguish over car related troubles.

I haven't had a car in almost 6 years and it's been amazing (though admittedly inconvenient sometimes), but I know I will probably have to get one sooner than later and I'm already having anxiety about it. Cars suck.

I've also never gotten into a major fender bender with car while riding my bicycle.
I'm just waiting for the day I get hit by a car. As long as I keep riding in the city, it'll happen sooner or later.

I've gotten into one stupid fender bender, down the street from my house. My insurance went up.
On our honeymoon my wife also accidentally hit a beam in the parking garage of our hotel with my car and almost ripped my bumper off. Insurance went up then too.
My wife got into a pretty bad accident that totaled her car in January. Luckily H wasn't in the car and both my wife and the other person were okay.
The good thing is insurance, while, it may go up, slowly, slowly, comes back down

Guitarists should be careful concerning automobile accidents. You don't want this to happen:

I worked in a law firm for a while that handled a lot of car accidents. I absolutely hate cars and insurance, etc. So much scary shit happens. As much as it will be inconvenient and maybe expensive, I'm glad you're ok.
And if you want, you can move to Wisconsin where beer and grilled cheese is a way of life (probs not in a cave though). We also have been known to build some pedals.

I'm 40 and got my first car 4 years ago (because I really need it at the moment).

I've been hit by a car twice. First time I was riding my bike. Ended up face first into the windshield. That was in 1984 and I still have splinters of glass in there. Second time I was drunk and got hit walking across the road. That one was nasty. Scored a broken femur, broken ancle, 3 broken ribs and a cracked scull.
Some people have all the luck

All of you must have very convient ways around and don't like traveling much. I can't fathom the idea never having a car. I've had one since I was 15 and had two accidents, neither my fault. One when the stupid girl infront of me takes a right and directly makes a U turn back into the street hitting me in my back quarter panel and then had the nerve to say that I hit her regardless the damage doesn't even reflect what she was saying. I was 17 at that time.
the last one was in 2013 when me and the wife were coming back from disney world and we were sideswiped by a car entering the interstate and we went into the guardrail totalling the car. We were both alright, just sore and my ankle just now cracks more but nothing that has stopped me in any way in life.
also been hit once by a truck when I was 17. was pushing carts where I worked at the time and I don't know if they were drunk or what but I went over the hood, thankfully just busting my head on the concrete upon completing my ragdoll display.
Cars aren't dumb, idiots driving are and there are a glut of them.

Glad that you've made it thus far unscathed, SLK.

Well, I've always lived in bike friendly cities. Sadly, I think, those days are coming to an end.

That's the truth (or most of it anyway).
