Real talk - facial hair and me

So I'm soon to be 24. THe last time when I shaved completely was after a breakup four years ago (approximately) and that was after a while of some facial hair existence already
today I shaved completely for a belated Tuesday Halloween party our uni department of English is holding. Me and my girl are going as Mulder and Scully...
Went from approximately this length
to this
...
I feel really bad
anyway the interesting part is in-between because I went gradually... personal favourites were
and
now... I have been contemplating a change for some time, the beard got a bit old for me so to speak, not really, but I was thinking about something you know... Main question is
Can I rock that mustache? weird chin-neck anomaly aside
ps: I personally think it looks sweet, but the missus was hardly happy with it and seems appalled by the idea
edit: better picture without the weird neck thing

I like the mustache. Goes well with your glasses.

You can definitely rock that stache.

I'll be the one to say "No" to just the moustache alone.
Friendly-Muttonchops for the win.

well you chiseled chin havin' motherfucker, don't feel bad!
I'd say the RockNRoll pic is the way to go....
You could also pull of the stache, but you'd look like a hipster
but you shouldn't really ask me, I'm too scared to shave

I think the stache looks like a non-ironic stache, and shouldn't be misunderstood as being a hipster stache.

^but that's so hard these days,
there could be a hipster ironically wearing a non-ironic stache

I wish i could grow anything besides shitty neck stubble that refuses to even approximate anything on the irony spectrum. It's really just sad honestly.
So yeah dude rock the 'stache or maybe do something wacky with the beard like shave a thin stripe or go pointy or something i dunno..
I'm not a facial hair authority by any measure. My sideburn area is just now starting to sparsely come in with like a dozen tiny coarse hairs lol

haha thanks for the encouragement guys
Carsten - people told me I looked like a hipster for years with the beard and the glasses. I'm used to it. Nowhere to go but up
I mean... being shaved could have been worse. Four years ago, I looked 13 when I shaved... That's not really a problem anymore, luckily. The problem is that I REALLY don'T feel like myself right now. I achieved everything I am right now (not much but you know what I mean) bearded. I don't know myself like this. I really feel super weird and borderline angry with myself and I don't even care for the costume or the party anymore (at least not today).
It's a good excuse to try the stache anyway because it's movember. However, I have no idea about my growth rate from stubble, sooooo.... it'S going to be an interesting month

btw: my beard was sort of almost curly anyway so it was nothing majestic and looked like shit half the time. But it was some sort of identity for me as cheesy as that might sound

Mutton chops all the way.
With just the 'tache and glasses you look like a teacher who wants to sell me meth.

Dude, I feel ya. The great thing is it's hair and grows, so you can experiment, but the wife is always shooting down the really good ones:
