Roger Linn on friday at perfect circuit audio from 5-7pm (burbank).
Going to see the Adicts at the Fonda on Friday.
My good friend is reopening her bookstore inside of a bar in Long Beach also on Friday (could be fun, but have to miss it). It is called Open. haha
There might be a Das Bunker, Release the Bats, or Disko Nekro event/DJ party on Friday or Saturday. Those are a fun with some good people.
Watts Towers?
Go see where
The Hammer was filmed (at least parts) like the Tar Pits.
UCB Theater is always fun, cheap and it is BYOB. There is two of them now too.
Not really in the know for underground shows anymore.
Maybe take a hike up to the weird secret Nazi bunker that hippies took over before they tear it down (if they haven't). Weird stuff. Or hike the roads to nowhere...or try to break into the old hospital that they keep pulling body parts out of...

nah, don't do that stuff
Yea, have fun! I guess I should ask what area because public transit sucks unless it is directly off a train line. If you are near South LA, Taqueria Los Anaya is awesome and so is Chichen Itza (it's like inside of this cultural business center). Pizza sucks here...TOI on Sunset is kinda fun for the whole 80s rock thing. Actually, the whole Sunset strip is a time warp (and might not be around much longer...lots of talk of turning it into high rise hotels).
Yea, it is kind of too big to really recommend stuff without knowing which area to focus on.
If you have the chance during the trip, stop in Bakersfield and get Thumbprint cookies from Smith's Bakery...and a sugar cookie. They are freaking amazing (and kind of world famous...they bake cakes and stuff for people all around, but still kind of unknown). Dewars makes a famous chew candy that goes all over too and they have good ice cream too.
I will keep an eye out for anything neat and post it here before the weekend.
Cheap decent clubs to check out (maybe something cool is going on): The Smell, Jewel's Catch One (hard to find their actual schedule...check ticket fly), Los Globos, The Mint (right by my house near culver city), The Regent, Pehrspace, Open, a few down in Long Beach that I don't remember, Spaceland (travels around these days), Echo, Echoplex, Where ever the goths are these days (see above), and I will try to think of some more. Oh, Fais Do Dos might be having a neat theme burlesque show. Lucha vavoom is awesome but not until the 28th and 29th.
