So been on the lookout for a guitar amp and found Victory amps.
Im liking the V30 The Countess, VX The Kraken, V40 The Duchess
But there's no way for me to test em out here but I really want to be able to nail the tone from the

Truckfighters - Last Curfew: song from "Mania" album

Which of these three amps do you guys think best fits the bill for recreating that kind of tone and or opinions about which is best Doom/Stoner of the three?

You really just need a cleanish full bodied amp and a decent fuzz. There's not too much fuzz on that particular track.

Generally you'd want more headroom than 30 watts, but even 40 isn't substantially more. I'd look at something in the 50-60 range. Are you super set on buying from Victory? There are plenty of amps that would be just as simple, with loads more headroom for probably a lot cheaper.

Well im very open to suggestions :)
I like the effect loop, size, and watt switchable to bedroom level for home practise + the full tube sounds from it

The first thing that comes to mind that checks all those boxes is the Carvin X100B. If you could lose the watt switchable feature you'd have like a billion options. Ampeg V2/V4, the myriad of JCM style amps (Laney, Sovtek, etc), probably even the Jet City stuff could do what you want. And they could all be found used for less the half the cost of a Victory amp. Unless you need boutique or are outside of the US, then your situation is a bit different.

I was gonna say sounds like a Super Lead with a fuzz pedal in front of it.

This.

Imo you're overthinking this.

There's a lot of cheaper amps out there that could get you close enough imo. Also: Don't underestimate the difference a killer guitarist and ditto producer/studio tech can make.

Btw, just to set this straight: There IS a good amount of fuzz action going on on that track, no? Maybe not in the main riff, but those little lead parts in between are smeared with something muff-ish, right?

I mean, probably. I kind of skipped around on the track, but overall the majority of the song sounded pretty clean to me. Logic still stands, and most pedals will do more than just a touch dirt anyway so :hobbes:
