OK.
So, I know we've been thinking about this for a while, and I thought I'd get the ball rolling now, that way it might be ready to go by next year.
So yeah. Rigs I'd Like to Fuck.
I just thought this would be a great place to spitball about the organisation, categories, what we'd like to see, whether or not we should do it the same as BILF or if we wanna make some key changes.
Also, I'm happy to organise this, but if someone with more experience doing this sort of thing wants to take over, I'm more than happy to see it done right.
But basically, I wanna touch all of your gear.....with a boner.
Maybe mine.
Maybe jwar's.
Maybe everyone's.
Let's just figure out how we make the magic happen.
Doombros vs Gazeheads.
Spacejazzers against the Drononauts.
LET'S STACK EM UP!!!

For me magic boner land is when a rig will work phenomenally for all of that, not require 4 separate rigs. I'm lazy and need a rig to love that will respect that about me. I don't want to have to drive to the practice space just because I want to doom, or leave and drive home because I want to drone. I'm a man looking for a long term relationship with a rig that gets me, knows I'm moody and a little bipolar. Is that too much to ask??

Ramones coverband vs Harshnoise and I'm in...
Sounds like fun. Do it like brackets...start with group draw then to the round of whatever and then bracket it!

This would be a lot of fun. Would there be sized based categories or just a free for all?

I vote for a free-for-all...there is something to be said for a concise rig versus an overblown rig, etc.

I was hoping for this to be the official ILF - the RPG thread. Can we rate rigs based on a RPG-derived system of points and mana and the ability for one rig to slay another etc?

I think I'd go for a free-for-all too. With something so variable categories might just end up being weird and forced or excluding certain stuff.

Like for every win you get a mana point....which lets you draw from a deck...that deck casts a spell on the other rig like "Obsfuscate Klon (or other "transparent" overdrive") which would allow you to cover the other person's pedal in a photo...or a spell like "Sparkles" which puts a moving sparkle border around your picture (which could work against you).
Then like hit points are post counts (ever 1k posts equals 1 hp with the minimum being 2 hp so less than 2k gets in too) so that Chankgeez can win!
That would be fun once, but probably get old...
Random draw bracketing would be cool.

I have a pretty big rid for what I do. LOL! My head is small (hehe) but it's super powerful. I'm in.

I'm on mobile so I'll be succinct.
Categories may be useful, but we can hold out and see if everyone wants to ditch em.
Peetee, I feel you on utilitarian approaches.
And yes, I was planning on running it dungeon styles.
We can discuss the mechanics of that here.
Mana is definitely a factor.
Don't forget, it's not all about amps and cabs. We'll be looking at guitars/basses/synths etc, pedal boards, secret weapons....the whole shebang.
I'm not going into detail about magic cables or any shit though. You send in an entry telling me how much high end you retain because you use brand x cable and I will post a pic of some dogshit I found and call it your rig.

Oh shit, I guess I have a reason to bring all my amps together, but I really don't think I'd last in a one-on-one thing. I have three small guitar combos, a 90's SS Fender head and cab, and two bass combos.
I guess if this is Dungeons and Dragons themed, I'm a bard to everyone's barbarian. I can do it all, and nothing well haha.
I vote for a "All in One" vote system, or maybe "Monoliths of Doom" and "Space Constraints" groups. Maybe also a special group for those who gig with multiple amps?
