Mr. Black Ambience

Haven't seen much discussion about this pedal. They ran a LTD version that sold out really quick last year. Looks like a great two in one multi tap delay + reverb for an instant ambient drone sound. Given how nice the Supermoon pedals are dialed in with the modulation and decay voicings, I think this is going to be a popular pedal as well. No info on what the delay sub division actually is, but I hope it's something groovy enough to play off the patterns as well. Clips seem like you can get Gilmour "The Wall" type tones from it. There's a $40 coupon code to preorder until the 17th, so I grabbed one, why the hell not. I've been impressed with the Mr. Black pedals I've played so far. Paintjob looks sick too. Anyone have any hands on experience with the LTD version?

I've been confused about mr black for a while. He doesn't get much love around here. I assume for all of knobs. Maybe there is more to it. I'm extremely happy with my flanger from him. Seems like he walks a weird line like Caroline guitar co of being famous but not popular in these parts but also hard to deny they make quality stuff. Hope you love the pedal! Post some clips! Seems like a tough category. It's competing with the rv5 and dispatch master and afterneath, all of which get plenty of love.

I'm also very interested in this one. I just missed the first batch last year. By less than a minute apparently. I really like my Deluxe Plus and Supermoon. I'm low on funds so I'm going to miss the presale. Guess I'll pony up when I have more cash. May give the EQD DM a run for its money.
BTW, my Caroline Olympia has been the only fuzz on my board for over a year and a half and the Kilobyte is a sick pedal.

Seems the same with ZVex and Walrus and several others. I think it is just their lack of involvement with the forum and/or that they are not obscure enough to develop a cult following amongst us general pedal cultist.

Most of the time it's because their pedals aren't that interesting, if that makes sense. I definitely feel that way about the OBNE stuff, for example, even though I think companies like that can be a great gateway for people to get into more oblique stuff, but they just don't do it for me personally.

the big turn off to me is only having three knobs, I feel like their pedals dont have any unique qualities to them. I say this after only owning a supermoon and thinking it sounded only okay. their visual appeal is also underwhelming for me

Yeah I think every company has it's own reason hat people love that or don't really care about them, and for me that's pretty much all that matters. Somehow, most likely by magic and wizardry, when I need a certain effect then one of those companies I love has the exact thing I totally need.
I love tons of knobs for the droney noise. I like minimal knobs for pumping out the jams. I need some of both because I really like to do both haha

I think what they do is cool it just isn't anything I don't already have covered in my previous 15 odd years of buying stupid little boxes.
