Begbie is such a horrible badass in that book.
a friend made the point that the different tone and the characters being 10 years older makes her more optimistic about revisiting it after so long.

WHOA. I cried during the new star wars trailer. I loved Lost. There is much hope here.

Neonicals - mebbe it's all the annoyance of decades that i habna been able to watch the movies i loved as a kicken because, outside of lazer disk, they don't exist? so meh about Star Wars. and the first Lens Flare Trek was good, second was shit. Lost was shit. I HAVE NO POSITIVE EXPECTATIONS.
Uggers - what was disappointing for you? i likededed that book. i loved how it introduced characters to the narative. the way he brought Dianne was neaaaaaat. yeah, there are some draggy parts i skip when i reread it, but all his stuff is like that.

I love Danny Boyle dude. I'll watch it. The first one is going to be hard as hell to live up to but we have sooooooo much better shit out now, I bet it's going to be awesome. I can't wait to see what they do!
