Shoes

I'm kind of picky about shoes. I don't wear dressy hipster shoes, converse chucks are too thin for me. I used to BMX and often wear plain skate shoes but haven't found any newer stuff I like. The two pairs I own now were both found used at Goodwill. Sadly they don't have too much life left as I wear them often.

So I need to get some ideas for alternatives. I bought a pair by the company "Simple" but after some wear I realized the soles and walls were too thin.

I need something comfy, available in a 12.5/13 (US) and not flashy. Preferably in a black/dark grey. Only colors I like in shoes.

Like I said: picky.

What do you plan on doing with these shoes?

I have different shoes for different things. I have black dress shoes for work. I have brown biz-cas-fri type shoes. I just apprehended a decent pair of brown oxfords for when I want to use my reverse side of my belt at work. And of course I have numerous pairs of chucks for when I play drums.

Shoes depend upon the occasion for me, but I'm also trying to dress more like a classy adult lately.

Check out the shoe thread in gear!

If you kind the look of chucks check out the new chuck 2s. They address a lot of the shortcomings with chucks.

Walking, running, should an emergency/natural disaster occur. Stand and trigger pedals. Shows must be pedal friendly. Casual. Ride my bike.

Vans for casual days. Grey pair and a dark red pair when I'm feeling flashy.

Waxed Canvas Doc Martens when I wanna class it up but still look like a badass.

Oxfords for work.

my work shoes are flip flops. Otherwise I just wear skate shoes or Chuck-style canvas sneakers.

Like you, I'm extremely picky.

My feet are quite big have not so pronounced arches and are oddly wide between the metatarses and phalanges, so there are a lot of shoes I won't wear because the shape of my feet makes those shoes look extremely ugly.

I have Vans Kress in different colors for casual wear and a couple pairs of Clarks desert boots for a more formal / everyday work look. I also have a pair of Solovair boots that I pretty much don't wear unless really heavy rain and extensive walking for the aforementioned reasoned. I'm thinking of experimenting with leather Clarks desert boots. Probably my next shoes purchase.

I'm without dress shoes right now, but that's okay because I'm suitless as well and I'd rather not wear suits at all. Seriously, who feels comfy in those?

the shoes video makes me happy every time I see it

I agree on most of the saucony styles but the jazz lowpro might be too thin for your tastes

any nike SB stuff is pretty good
if you were a few sizes smaller I would just send ya something

Pretty sure this one dude I hang out with has a pair of these. I only know that they're special Chucks because I mentioned how I wish I could wear Chucks without my feet destroying them when he was showing me, and he was like "well these are kinda padded, seem to be thicker on the bottom, etc". They look nice, and I wouldn't have known there was anything different about them without him telling me.

But yeah, I just get skate shoes for general wear + stomping on pedals. Comfy af, and they always last me a long time. Other than that, I buy a pair of boots every few years for winter + doing any physical work. I dunno, out of all of the things that I'm really picky about with how I dress, shoes are the least of my concerns. "Are they comfy and black/grey?" is the only thing I care about. :idk:
