I'll Mix/Master your songs FOR FREE!

Don't get too excited. I'm pretty sure I suck at it.
I don't expect you to release the music if you don't like the finished product. My feelings will not be hurt.
I'm doing this for 2 reasons:
1. To get practice mixing/mastering
2. To get more familiar with Reaper as a DAW
Do not expect:
1. Good mixing/mastering.
2. Any sort of deadline - I have no idea how long it will take me. If you want to release the song by a certain date, depending on how far away the date is I can let you know if I think I'll be done in time, but most likely I'll just recommend that you send it to someone else so you can know for sure that you'll have it in time. And you might as well still send it to me too, after all, it's free
That in mind, if you do end up liking it, and you want to send me some money (or gear

) I'm not going to refuse it. But - and this is very important - I AM NOT EXPECTING ANYTHING IN RETURN. I almost didn't want to mention the part about payment for fear that people would read it and think that I'm going to be mad if you don't end up paying me anything. I am not expecting anything at all. Think of it as an optional donation. You shouldn't feel bad or guilty or anything if you don't pay me anything. You are doing me a favor by allowing me to practice mixing/mastering tracks.
Also, if you end up releasing it, some sort of credit would be nice (just something simple like mixed/mastered by Seth Peacock), but if for some reason you don't even want to do that, that's fine with me.
Anyway, send me some tracks!
(I wasn't sure where to put this so I just threw it in General Discussion. If this belongs somewhere else just let me know.)

It would be cool to make a communal thread for mixing each other's music. I'll send you some tracks.

Do yourself a favor and make a contract even for free gigs. Give yourself the right to have credit on all release and give yourself the ability to refuse credit should you not like the way the band wants things mixed. It will protect yourself and the musicians at the same time should anything come up in the future.
The freelancer's union has a great resource on how to make a good contract on your own.

Also don't sell yourself short too early. Be honest about your experience, but framing it in a negative light will not get you any extra gigs.

I might, but honestly I have never encountered an asshole on this forum and I trust that everyone will be professional about it. And honestly, even if they don't do anything I ask of them, I won't care. I'm doing this pretty much solely for the practice.

Hey dude if you want I can send you some stuff to practice on but it's not going to be, like, "traditional instrumentation" or anything.

I was gonna offer to shoot you a PM with individual tracks for the silly cover of "Sand" that I did with a friend, but it appears that I've deleted those already. Since I've needed a kick in the ass to actually start recording things, I'll try to record some stuff over the next couple of weeks that you can use.
